Home should be a sanctuary, your safe house, more than a place you bypass in between work and social obligations.

A living space requires three items:

  • A bed – obviously
  • A lounge chair – giving you the ability to relax after work and separate your relaxation from your rest.
  • A place to sit and eat – Your dining area should be a place that separates you from the rest of the days obligations. This is a time to nourish, replenish and contemplate.

Three Items That Come After the Necessities...

  • Mood Lighting – Strip lights, lamps with amber bulbs, faux fireplaces etc are a few pieces that come to mind to add comfort to your space, especially when you’re unwinding during the evening.
  • Rugs! – I cannot stress this enough, especially with hard wood floors. Whether it’s a warm or cool colored rug it will fill blank space, tie a room together, they protect the floors and give off a cozy vibe.
  • Art – Posters, hanging plants, wall mounted sculptures, whatever it is you can’t really go wrong. Again, filling in blank space, it’ll make the room feel a little smaller, but you’ll  start feeling more of YOU every time you enter.
